Dear Valued Customer,

Please be advised of the latest shipping updates ans potential delays due to Typhoon Saudel and port congestion in China

  • Shanghai & Ningbo: Port operations are being affected by the typhoon. Ningbo has already suspended empty container pick-up, while Shanghai will suspend empty pick-up from 27 August, with full-container returns also temporarily suspended.
  • Other China ports: Xiamen, Shenzhen and Qingdao remain operational, but vessel congestion around Shanghai may cause delays to vessels calling these ports. Xingang and Dalian may also be affected as containers are routed via Shanghai/Ningbo for Australia services.
  • Omitted sailings: Several MSC and other carrier sailings have been omitted, which may result in shipment delays and changes to planned ETD/ETA.
  • A3N service: Due to severe Shanghai congestion, the A3N service will omit Shanghai for approximately the next six weeks. Additional capacity will instead be allocated to the A3C service.
  • Overall impact: Customers with shipments through Shanghai/Ningbo should expect possible schedule changes, delays, and reduced vessel availability.

We will continue to monitor the situation closely and keep you updated as further information becomes available.

AVION International Australia recommends allowing additional lead time and avoiding firm delivery commitments based solely on original sailing schedules.

Please contact your AVION representative if you have urgent or time-sensitive cargo moving through China.

Thank you for your understanding and patience.
