Bavi is tracking toward the seas east of Taiwan and will skirt north of the island toward the coast of southern Zhejiang and northern Fujian. Vessel and terminal operations across key East China ports are expected to fully suspend over the next three days.
Bavi is forecast to make landfall on Saturday evening between Fuqing in Fujian province and Wenling in Zhejiang province, carrying winds of 137–162 km/h. Impacted areas in China will experience the storm’s full force from the evening of 10 July through 12 July.
Rainfall & Flooding
On Saturday, Zhejiang and Fujian will see the storm’s strongest winds and heaviest rain. Parts of southern Zhejiang and northeastern Fujian are forecast to receive 250–400 mm of rain, with potential for urban flooding.
Storm Scale
Weather China, affiliated with the China Meteorological Administration, reports Bavi has held super typhoon strength for more than five days. Its circulation spans over 1,200 km in diameter, with cloud cover of nearly 940,000 km² — about nine times the land area of Zhejiang province.
