The Avion Australia team is thrilled to announce the opening of the new Brisbane branch, a state-of-the-art facility that combines office space and a warehouse to serve our Queensland clientele better.
Avion was keen to provide personalised customer service to clients in Queensland, and opening a dedicated space was the perfect way to give clients the service they deserved.
Before the Brisbane opening, Avion did not have a dedicated Queensland presence, says Richard Holy, QLD Branch Manager. The new outpost is strategically located to ensure fast, dedicated service from airports and ports, including the Port of Brisbane which is open 24/7. The facility provides seamless integration with the rest of Avion’s Australian offerings.
The new Brisbane location includes 3000 sqm of warehousing, 1000 sqm hardstand office space, 2400 pallet spaces for storage, and ambient as well as refrigerated storage. The facility handles all air and ocean freight at the third largest seaport and airport in the country, as well as 3 PL services including last-mile deliveries in Queensland.
The state-of-the-art warehouse includes barcode scanning and smart location management of items for efficient turnaround Richard says the Brisbane offering is a chance for Queensland clients to work with someone who understands logistics and freight forwarding in the Sunshine State. Richard says another crucial difference in the Queensland business landscape is the proliferation of smaller businesses, creating more opportunities. “In Brisbane and Queensland there are lots of family-run companies whereas in Sydney and Melbourne tend to be large multinationals,” he says.
The dedicated Brisbane office will benefit Avion’s customers by providing a local rep to talk to, creating better customer service and close working relationships. “Many multinational logistics suppliers don’t have staff based in that city, they will outsource to third-party providers,” he says. “[Avion] is all about relationships. Clients know the delivery driver – it’s the same person every time. They’re talking to the same person.”
